I am a family systems therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families in a positive and creative manner. We work together to reduce suffering, address trauma, solve behavior and relationship issues, and to enhance clients' enjoyment of life. Mindfulness, communication techniques, and expressive therapies may be used to facilitate change. Cognitive behavioral methods are used to affect changes in behavior, improve enjoyment of life, and create new thinking patterns. Good therapy builds on strengths and abilities you already have, while giving you the tools to make the changes you desire.
I have a Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychology from St Martins University, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have worked extensively as a Coach and Equine Assisted Therapist for over 30 years.
I am currently accepting new clients, and I appreciate referrals!
My counseling and coaching style is supportive, positive, and creative. During counseling, we focus on building communication skills, and growing deeper connections and stronger relationships with others. Humor, and playful interaction is encouraged.
For couples, I have special training in communication, and sex therapy. My work is informed by the work of Esther Perel, and the Harville Hendrix and his Imago therapy. I enjoy working with couples to create a more peaceful and functional relationship. My goal is to help you increase your mutual joy and peace.
My office is located at 503 Van Trump Ave NW in Yelm. I'm on the corner of Solberg and Van Trump by Yelm Middle School.
